This is a new feature on Liberofootball.com, looking at all the latest talent cropping up in world football at the moment. Here are a number of prodigous talents, ranging from powerful defenders to lightening-quick wingers:

Mario Balotelli – Inter Milan (ST)

The young striker made such an impression in his debut season at the San Siro, that he began taking all the set pieces. Under Roberto Mancini’s tutelage, the black Italian scored a number of key goals in the Coppa Italia, including a brace away to Juventus. His height, pace and strength, combined with exquisite technique has made him a feared opponent for any side. Of Ghanaian heritage, he has committed to his adopted Italy, with the Azzurri desperate to recruit ‘Super Mario’ to their cause. Now with Jose Mourinho, Balotelli is having to play the waiting game.

Ignacio Camacho – Atletico Madrid (DM)

When this young defensive midfielder made his debut against Barcelona last season, Kun Aguero’s stunning performance took away the headlines, after a 4-2 win, from the powerful ‘Nacho’. He captained the U17 side to victory at the European championships. Now 18, Camacho is looking to establish himself in Javier Aguirre’s squad, with players such as Raul Garcia and Maniche ahead of him. Having been refused a loan move, it is clear how highly he is rated. His distribution and tackling ability are key factors to his game. He could be the replacement for ageing Marcos Senna in the national team.

Sotiris Ninis – Panathinikos (RW)

When he made his debut, the Greek press were keen to label Ninis the ‘new’ Messi, and with the national side in decline after the miraculous victory at Euro 2004, he was seen as the great, new hope. He made his debut at 16 years and 309 days and scored against Panionios soon after, cutting in from the right hand side and slotting home. In the intense Athens derby, Panathiniakos won 4-1, with Ninis tearing apart the AEK defence with a goal and two assists. He has been linked to a £14m move away, but it seems for now, the Albanian-born prodigy will remain in Greece.

Miralem Pjanic – Lyon (CAM)

Arsenal and Lyon were in for this young Bosnian last summer, and the French side ended up paying Metz £5m for his services. Pjanic plays as an old-fashioned playmaker, with a wonderful vision and passing ability. He moved from Bosnia as a child with his family due to war in the country and eventually settled in Luxembourg. Then Metz came calling when he was 14. Pjanic’s upright running style, elegant style and decent turn of pace have caused the inevitable comparisons to a certain Zizou. Yet, the fact is this youngster is very raw and far from the finished product. He could become anything, from a winger to a pure striker, to the No.10 role we all see him fulfilling.

Breno – Bayern Munich (CB/RB)

Footballer-turned-scout Giovane Elber recommended this youngster to Bayern Munich. His former club were clearly listening intently, signing the defender for €12.25m, despite competition from Real Madrid and Juventus. The Spanish side were all set on signing Breno, but their request of a bone density scan to prove his age caused the 18 year old to reject them and sign for Bayern instead. Breno recently made his Bundesliga debut in a 1-0 defeat to Hanover. Bayern were poor, with the ideas of Klinsmann not bearing fruit, but Breno was outstanding in every aspect of his game. He will only get better.
